SAFETY PROTOCOL AND WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR FIRST KID CONNECT EXPERIENCE
First time attendees and guests are asked to register your infant through 8th grade child(ren) at the Welcome Desk in the Kid Connect foyer. Parents and children will be escorted to the classroom(s) by a Kid Connect staff member or volunteer.
Children will receive a name tag and parents will receive a claim tag with a unique ID of letter/numbers that will need to be presented when you pick your child(ren) up at the end of the service. If your child requires medical attention, a diaper change or is distressed, the unique claim ID code assigned to your child that day will be displayed on the sanctuary video screen. Please go directly to your child’s classroom to attend to his/her need.
In the unlikely event of an EMERGENCY EVACUATION, we ask that parents/guardians DO NOT pick up their children. Staff members and volunteers have been trained and instructed on how to quickly evacuate the children from the building. All children (infant through 8th grade) will be escorted to the gazebo in the back parking lot and will be released to their parents once the fire personnel indicate it is safe to do so.
ALL Children’s and Youth Ministry volunteers are trained in our safety protocol procedures for both fire and intruder situations and have passed a background check through Volunteer Select which is a national background check service. In addition, volunteers must provide two character references (both of which must be CCC members if the volunteer has attended CCC for less than 6 months).
Wellness Policy: Please do not bring your children to our classrooms or nursery if they have been sick within the last 24 hours or have yellow or green mucous (funny nose). If your child has had an infection, please make sure that they have been on antibiotics for 24 hours before bringing them into the classroom or nursery.
Snack/Food and Drink Policy: Please do not allow your preschool, elementary or middle school children to bring food, snacks, or candy into their classrooms. In general, we do not provide snacks for kids, however, oftentimes we offer small lollipops as incentive rewards for children bringing their Bibles to class. In the event a special snack is being served in your child’s class, there will be allergy alert posters posted at the Welcome Center and/or in your child’s classroom. (NOTE: gluten/dairy free cookies are available for toddlers and there is bottled water available for children in all classrooms).
